Overheard on Clark Street. "They're just going to have to deal with my laissez-faire racism."

What does that mean?! Discuss.

Somewhere between decluttering and not so secretly supporting my penchant for cuteness I came across this find. It has no practical use other than to plug into a computers USB port, blink its doey eyes, and sit on a wee cartoon tree stump or atop a monitor screen.

Still I want one, don't you? I mean, it's not like I already have a growing collection of solar powered toys that sit in the front window causing children to dance!

Having visited the Jelly Belly factory last weekend and seeing a vintage dentist office at the Museum of Science and industry me teeth have begun to ache.

Fear not! The next time you visit your dentist, ask them if they have the PediSedate. I mean what child or adult doesn't want to be distracted by its colorful toy-like headset while being fed nitrous oxide? Did I mention you can listen to music through it as well as video games?

A running joke between Wally and I is that Somerset is burning. This phrase became part of our daily routine after his parents had come for a visit. Somerset is the care facility across the street from us, which is a PC way of saying crazy town. There are either one of two vehicles outside this building- an ambulance, a firetruck or both. The night before his parents left, someone had started a fire and burnt down part of the awning just above street level.

The next morning Wally's mother passed our bedroom and remarked that she could still smell the fire- which incidentally had been me lighting a match after a poop. Shortly thereafter the Shirl's light bulb clicked on and I was simultaneously embarrassed. I mean his was one of the first times meeting them and all.

Designed by Samuel N. Crowen and opened in 1920 it originally had 441 furnished rooms arranged in 205 suites of one to four rooms. It was described as "the ideal dwelling place for those desiring the homelike atmosphere and privacy of an apartment combined with all the modern conveniences of a hotel."
